Full Sail University (http://www.fullsail.edu), is proud to announce that Garry Jones, President of Full Sail University and Dr. Holly Ludgate, Program Director of the Education Media Design and Technology Master of Science Degree Program, were awarded certificates of recognition by the Orange County School Board. These certificates honored Full Sail University?s efforts in supporting Ocoee Middle School, Florida?s technology demonstration school, in a ceremony held on April 29, 2010.

District 7 Board Member, Christine Moore of the Orange County School Board, along with Ocoee Middle School Principal, Sharyn Gabriel, highlighted Full Sail?s support of the middle school lead by Dr. Ludgate which includes: providing professional development for the faculty, partnering together to create a curriculum for the Gaming, Digital Arts, and Media classes, and alongside the middle school, Full Sail worked to plan, record, and edit the flash mob inspired video piece, ?Gotta Keep Reading? based on the popular Black Eyed Peas song, which gained over a half million viewers on YouTube and was featured twice on Oprah.

In addition to volunteering their time, faculty and equipment, Full Sail allowed students from the middle school to shadow them during the entire production, and as a result of the video which encourages life-long learning, Oprah, The Heart of America Foundation, and Target renovated Ocoee Middle Schools Media Center and each student received seven books to further their reading goals.

?We are extremely excited that Full Sail University is being recognized for their tremendous impact on our curriculum, which has increased our students? engagement on campus,? said Gabriel. ?Due to our collaboration with the university, we are continually inspired to share our passion for technology in the classroom, allowing our students to learn without limits.?

Garry Jones, President of Full Sail University further added, ?Full Sail University takes great pride in supporting technology based education at every level, especially when it includes inspiring young minds in our community. Being recognized by the Orange County School Board is a tremendous honor for both Full Sail and the professional members of our faculty, such as Dr. Ludgate, who strives to share her love of technology and her passion for education with our students, as well as with the students of Ocoee Middle School.?
