When Carolyn Kaster of the Associated Press photographed President Barack Obama in Council Bluffs, Iowa Monday as he spoke during a campaign stop, she probably never imagined the Harry Potter-like image would result in meme mania within hours.

But it was hard to avoid, as the photograph included an outdoor light post shining behind the president that made it appear he was holding an orb in his hands. The president's dark clothing appeared almost Wizard-ly robelike. The rest, as they say, is his-story, told through the meme minds of those who are Out There, shared via MemeGenerator. When five teenagers struck a goofy pose for a group photo in 1982, they never expected that 30 years later they would be sitting in the same spot making the same face. The friends, now in their late 40s, talk about why they made a pact to take the same picture again and again.
