Thousands form human chain in anti-Putin protest (AP)

Opposition supporters wearing masks take part in a protest rally called The White Ring along the Garden Ring road in Moscow, February 26, 2012. Thousands of Russians joined hands to form a ring around Moscow city centre on Sunday in protest against Vladimir Putin's likely return as president in an election next week. Word on the mask depicting Prime Minister Vladimir Putin reads AP - Thousands of protesters held hands to form a 16-kilometer (10-mile) human chain encircling central Moscow on Sunday to keep up the pressure on Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as he prepares to extend his rule for six more years.
