* Sizzla And His Main Producers - The duo of Sizzla and Fatis has been flawless together. Fatis was responsible for producing Sizzla's debut album 'Burning Up'. Later, they came back together again for 'Praise Ye Jah' which was very successful.
However, the success of 'Praise ye Jah' is nothing when compared to the reviews of 'Black Woman And Child' which was produced by Dixon. The title track became a reggae anthem and is considered to be a classic by contemporary reggae fans all over the world. He went ahead and released many singles with Dixon which were all successful.
* Albums And Songs - His debut album 'Burning Up' was released in 1995 with 12 songs. The album is of the roots-style-reggae genre and was released under the label of RAS. It's songs included 'Mothers of Nation', 'The Poor' and 'We Want Love' amongst others.
Black Woman And Child was released under VP Records. It was featured in the book 'The Rough Guide: Reggae: 100 essential CDs' which speaks volumes about the cult status of the album. Apart from the hit title track, the album included 14 other tracks and 2 more bonus tracks which were released in 2002. The songs include 'Love Is Divine', 'Babylon A Use Dem Brain', 'Mi Lord' and 'Too Much To Bare' amongst others.
His latest album, 'Don't Mislead The Youth' is already turning heads and speaker volumes up. The album has 6 compositions and the opening song 'So Lovely' is a must for die hard romantics. 'Party' is a fun and peppy song that makes you wants to get up and ravage the dance floor. The closing track 'Ganja' is about freedom and is fun with meaningful lyrics. Other songs from the album include 'Hotta Fire', 'Learn To Read' and the title track.
Lyon House Muzic has done great work on Sizzla's latest album and deserves all the accolades.
* Sizzla And Rastafari Movement - Sizzla was born to parents who were devout followers of the Rastafari Movement. This comes out repeatedly in his music and in the lyrics of his songs. His songs try to bring out the Rastafarian values and speak against oppression of black nations, the corrupting influence of Babylon et al.
* Awards - At the MOBO Awards of 1998, Sizzla received his first nomination for the Best International Artist of the Year.
His achievements include his continued presence on the Top Reggae Albums charts that 'Words of Truth' reached #5. 21 of Sizzla's albums have made it to the Billboard's Top Reggae Album's chart which is a phenomenal achievement. Sizzla is considered by many to be the last word in contemporary reggae music and his fan following is inspiring. Even though he has been a part of many controversies, fans and critics have always appreciated his music.
