The Japan Media Arts Festival is a comprehensive festival of media arts that honors outstanding works from a diverse range of media ? from animation and comics to media art and games.

Since its start inception in 1997, the festival has recognized significant works of high artistry and creativity, and in addition to a yearly Exhibition of Award-winning Works has held other events, such as symposiums, screenings, and showcases in February.

Last year the 15th Festival received a record 2,714 entries from 57 countries and regions around the world, demonstrating its continuing evolution as an established annual international festival.

)) The 16th Japan Media Arts Festival is now accepting entries.
*Deadline: Thursday, September 20, 2012

The festival is calling for entries for its four divisions;
Art, Entertainment, Animation, and Manga

The 16th Festival includes the following new categories:
Media Performance (in Art Division)
Gadgets (in Entertainment Division)
