I. Position Summary:
The Performance Solutions Specialist (PSS) is responsible for determining full cycle solutions, architecture, development and measurement that result in improving business performance, increasing workforce capability, and/or increasing employee engagement. PSSs are expected to deliver relevant and holistic solutions architectures and components that achieve defined performance and development objectives. Duties include overall solutions management, assessment and planning for the design, development, and delivery of multiple modality curriculum, and ongoing monitoring/measurement of solutions provided. The Performance Solutions Specialist?s work products will impact multiple aspects of the employee experience across the employee lifecycle as well as the line of business workforce capability. The PSS is primarily responsible for developing holistic solutions architectures that incorporate component solutions generated by themselves and others.

II. Work Context:
A Performance Solutions Specialist works 40 hours a week in a typical office setting. The temperature is controlled and is normally comfortable. Work stations are adequately lit and of reasonable size. The work is completed independently, although collaboration with others outside or inside of the direct team (to include vendor interaction) is necessary to complete projects. The stress level is moderate, with frequent changes in work load and timeframes. A Performance Solutions Specialist may be required to stand up for several hours a day with short breaks every 2-3 hours conducting training or completing research in the stores. This position reports directly to a manager and has ?dotted line? reports called Performance Solutions Providers.

III. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Management ~ Provide organization, oversight and decisive leadership to solutions projects.
? Coordinate, plan for, and oversee the development of holistic performance solutions architectures.
? Monitor development of component solutions to ensure relevance, fit, and applicability within holistic solutions architectures.
? Manage vendor relationships to ensure products are of high quality, are relevant, and fit within broader solutions architecture.

Assess & Plan for Performance Solutions ~ Deliver strong project plans with solutions that support he needs of the business that are executable within time and budgetary constraints.
? Gather quantitative and qualitative information critical to the solutions development process from multiple channels including both internal and external sources.
? Conduct robust needs analysis and evaluation activities
? Conduct and review needs analysis and
? Utilize HPT methodology to determine root causes and define the nature of the solution system and components
? Develop robust project plans that account for work performance, critical deadlines, pre-deployment testing, and necessary resources.

Design Performance Solutions ~ Create solutions architectures that drive desired business and performance results.
? Within approved solutions architectures, create appropriate solutions and interventions.
? Work with Instructional Designers and Instructional Specialists to ensure they create appropriate solutions and interventions to work within holistic architecture.
? Employ recognized adult learning principles within designed solutions
? Considering the performance objectives, audience environment, and available resources, determine the appropriate solutions modality to use within the architecture from the full complement of solutions products available, to include Instructor-led training, eLearning, performance support tools (job aids, search, help functions, etc.), Community networking avenues, Podcasts, etc.
? Request, review and obtain feedback from Learning and Development Managers, Performance Consultants, Key internal clients, and Target Audience groups during design phase as appropriate.

Develop Performance Solutions ~ Deliver lean solutions (in a modality or multiple modalities) that achieve performance / business objectives while maximizing learning transfer and sustainability.
? Determine the overall business needs / objectives based on needs analysis as they relate to business outcomes or workforce behaviors.
? Determine solutions architecture to meet overall business needs / objectives.
? Design and work with Instructional Designers to design frameworks for contemporary and effective solutions that consider relevant internal and external information that will achieve performance objectives.
? Monitor business environment and needs to recognize and perform needed adjustments to developed frameworks during course of projects.

Deliver Performance Solutions.~ Implement architectures and solutions to achieve target adoption rates and that result in achievement of performance objectives.
? Deliver designed solution: facilitate classroom, launch electronic solution, publish performance support, activate networking, etc.
? Monitor use, manage improvements
? Work with line supervisors to ensure maximum effectiveness of delivery

Sustain & Evaluate ~ Monitor and measure effectiveness of delivered solutions and architectures while making needed changes with agility.
? Utilize Lowe?s feedback and measurement resources to monitor effectiveness of component parts of the solutions architectures.
? Utilize Human Capital Analytics metrics and dashboards to monitor effectiveness of solutions architectures.
? Direct or make changes / modifications to architectures as indicated by measures monitored.
? Recognize and react to indicators of obsolescence or evolution in business needs.

IV. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed upon hire:
? Instructional Design Skills
? Solutions Architecture
? Project Management
? Direct experience and understanding of authentic, vivid learning in the workplace principles and practices
? Understanding of Performance Improvement theory

V. Policies, Guidelines, Tools and Equipment Used

VI. Experience and Educational Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
? Undergraduate degree in Education, HR Development, Communications or related field of study
? 3-5 years of work experience as an Instructional Designer or equivalent.
? 1+ year of HPT work experience or formal HPT education
