could this be male breast cancer?I am a 34 year old male and a few weeks ago I noticed a strange lump in the middle of my left breast. Now if I push on my nipple it really hurts, a sharp pain. Could this be cancer? I am not aware of any other cancer in my family, but my mother was an orphan so her side of the family is not known. I am also a heavy drinker and I read that alcohol is associated with breast cancer.

Breast cancer in men is rare ? fewer than 1% of all cases.
Most men diagnosed with it are over 60, though I have met a few through breast cancer support networks who were in their late 40s and 50s.
It?s rare for a woman of your age to develop breast cancer, much less a male ? only 5% of all women diagnosed are under 40.
Most cancerous breast lumps don?t hurt ? the majority of people diagnosed have felt no pain.
Most breast lumps in men turn out to be a condition called gynaecomastia, which is benign breast tissue growth, a. button-like growth under the nipple and areola area that can be felt and is sometimes visible to the naked eye and occasionally it can be quite tender.
This increase in the amount of breast tissue is not a tumour and occurs due to changes in hormone balances at times like adolescence and old age, but can happen at any time
This is almost certainly what you have, but you must check it out with your doctor
